Glenfiddich Launched The Limited-Edited 31 Year Old Grand Château Whisky, With Only A Few Bottles Across The World

Recently, Glenfiddich launched its exclusive Grand Château 31 Scotch Whisky.
It’s luxury in every sip. For Glenfiddich released its limited-edition, 31 Year Old Grand Château Single Malt Scotch Whisky recently, a spirit that is specially matured in Bordeaux red wine casks. And members of the Royal Calcutta Golf Club got a private viewing of it over a closed-door soiree.
The 31 year old Grand Château Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a collector’s dream, and there are only a limited number of bottles of it across the world. What makes it special is the attention to detail that the most-awarded single malt Scotch whisky brand has afforded it. The flavours are refined and unique—after being aged in American oak, the fine liquid spends nine years in wine casks to acquire unmatched complexity. A rare Marriage of the best of Scotland and France, Grand Château reveals notes of caramelised cherry and apple, along with warming spice and toasted oak. Luxurious and earthy at once, you’re treated to a fruity and floral palette, perfect for an elevated, layered drinking experience.

It’s no wonder that this rare whisky is worth ₹2,52,000 (pricing in West Bengal). This is literally art. And that is evident in the packaging, too—Glenfiddich collaborated with French graffiti artist André Saraiva for his playful, colourful artwork, to celebrate the charm of Speyside with Paris. André is best-known for his iconic stick figure character, Mr. A, which he has painted on all six continents of the world. For Grand Château, Mr. A can be seen wandering through the vineyards of the scenic Toile de Jouy landscape. The colours of the rainbow come alive inside the box, with the sun shining bright in a rainbow of colour and a seaside cityscape with the number 1887 evidently displayed—for it was on Christmas Day in 1887 that the first drop of spirit fell from Glenfiddich’s copper stills.

In Kolkata, members of the RCGC were privy to the exclusive launch of the fine whisky. The evening was hosted by actor Meghana Kaushik, and there were special performances by the Silver Strings band. Guests were also introduced to Glenfiddich’s range of rare, collectible whiskies by Sachin Mehta, Managing Director, William Grant & Sons India. And, finally, a whisky appreciation session was held, where the nosing of the Glenfiddich 21 Gran Reserva was hosted by the GTR Global Brand Ambassador Ashvin Joshi.

The evening was certainly an ode to celebration, as is the very essence of Grand Château from Glenfiddich’s Grand Series—this range has been created for the grand occasions in life, by combining traditional knowledge with unique flavours and processes that make them highly-coveted. As Brian Kinsman, Malt Master states about the Grand Château, “Bordeaux red wine casks are incredibly versatile sources of flavour and recognised widely for their outstanding quality, providing the perfect opportunity for experimentation to develop a profound spirit.”

Glenfiddich’s Grand Château Whisky will be available in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurugram and a few select markets, for connoisseurs of the finest spirits.
